Connect every requirement, decision, and deliverable.
TraceWorks is the engineering workspace we wanted while running real delivery programs — one place where the project's record stays coherent from kickoff to handover.
Why we're building this
Engineering projects don't fail at the artifact level.
They fail at the connections between artifacts. A requirement gets updated, but the spec referencing it doesn't. A risk gets retired, but the mitigation lives in someone's inbox. A test passes, but no one can find what it was verifying.
TraceWorks exists because we kept watching capable teams lose control of the trace — not because they were careless, but because the tools they were using made it harder than it should have been to keep records connected.
What we believe
Engineering records deserve a system of record
Engineering work spans requirements, specifications, decisions, vendors, tests, and submittals. When those live in scattered spreadsheets and shared drives, the trace is gone. TraceWorks treats those records — and the links between them — as first-class data.
AI proposes; humans dispose
Generative AI is great at first drafts, summaries, and finding patterns in big documents. It's bad at being trusted with your domain records. We hard-gate every AI mutation behind a human review step. No silent writes, ever.
Auditability is a feature, not a tax
Every state change is logged immutably. You can reconstruct who changed what, when, and why — without bolting on a separate audit system. This is the same data the Trace Score reads from.
Pragmatic over comprehensive
We'd rather ship the 80% of a workflow that's used daily than the 100% nobody runs. The product evolves with the teams using it, and the changelog reflects that pace.
